HANOI–PERFUME PAGODA– MAI CHAU  /MAI CHAU–NINH BINH /NINH BINH–HOA LU–HANOI

D1 HANOI–PERFUME PAGODA– MAI CHAU  (L/D)
In the morning, depart to the Perfume Pagoda, a vast complex of Buddhist temples and shrines built into the limestone cliffs of the Huong Tich mountains, approximately 70 km Southwest of Hanoi. It is the site of a religious festival which draws large numbers of pilgrims from across Vietnam. 
On arrival, take a sampan boat for a trip along the gentle Yen River winding through rice fields, before visiting Trinh Temple. Further on, walk to the Thien Tru Pagoda before taking the cable-car to the upper part of the mountain and explore some other sacred places of the Perfume Pagoda. 
In the afternoon continue by road to Mai Chau. 
 
Dinner and overnight at Pom Coong Village in a traditional stilt house.
 
Note: Excursion to the Perfume Pagoda is not recommended during and after the period of the Vietnamese Lunar New Year due a large influx of local pilgrims. 
Note: Traditional Thai houses are made of wood and offer a simple comfort. Other accommodation options are possible in Mai Chau which meet international standard. Please consult us (supplement applies).
D2 MAI CHAU–NINH BINH  (B/L)
After breakfast, visit the Ban Lac minority villages before walking through rice fields to the villages of Nhot and Na Meo (Thai minority) located at the foot of the mountain. 
In the afternoon, continue by road to Ninh Binh through the picturesque landscapes of the National Road 12.
Overnight in Ninh Binh.

D3 NINH BINH–HOA LU–HANOI  (B/L)
After breakfast, depart for a bicycle ride through traditional villages to reach Bich Dong Pagoda (15th century) and then continue to Thung Nang pier. 
Then, board a small sampan boat for a spectacular journey on the river, through beautiful rural landscapes of limestone cliffs and rice paddies. Visit one cave before returning and taking lunch at a local restaurant.
In the afternoon, visit the temples dating from the Dinh and Le Dynasties.  
Then return back to Hanoi later in the afternoon.
